Patch update and Spring stuff…

I had another walk in the Valley this morning – pretty much the same stuff as yesterday evening, with highlights being 1 blackcap, 2 willow warblers, 2 curlews and 5 swallows (the latter still skimming Old Wheel Dam), plus a dipper by the Fisheries and a tree sparrow on Stacey Lane.

Attempts at curlew photography were more successful (but only slightly!) than yesterday.

Elsewhere a few more signs of Spring include a blue tit making a nest in a hole in the side of next door’s house. I’ll try and get some better pics when the light’s a bit better.

Blue Tit

And of course this time of year wouldn’t be the same without a gratuitious cute lamb shot…

Today’s the first day of the QuicksilverBirds Easter Bird Race – to be honest I’ve taken it at a very leisurely pace today, but still racked up a fair few. I’ll post a full list on Tuesday…
