Just to prove I’m still here…

A couple of photos from the last week or so…

Kestrel and Magpies
Two magpies harassing a kestrel in the Loxley Valley.

A nuthatch near Padley Gorge.

Money does grow on trees...
And proof money does grow on trees?! This dead tree, also near Padley Gorge, seems to have a custom attached to it of putting pennies in its cracks. Does anyone know if there’s any significance to why people do this?

  1. I’m not aware of any custom requiring coins to be hammered into dead tree stumps, but there must be one. Here is one I came across near Malham in the Yorkshire Dales.
