Patch update 15/07/08

Not much around at all tonight – 1 x dipper at the Fisheries, herons at Stacey Lane and over Black Lane, a female pheasant with chick at Stacey Bank, coot with chick at Old Wheel Dam, mixed flock of 50+ house martins and swallows at Old Wheel Farm.

Luckily the coots were photogenic enough to make a vaguely interesting blog post of this trip! The adult was diving and finding food for the chick, which was making panicky noises when the adult disappeared. At one point the adult chased off a flock of Canada geese that was getting too close.

Raaaaaah!

Cute coot

And a proud-looking swallow for good measure (I’m cheating – I actually took this a few days ago!)
