A snowy patch update

dscf1627.jpg

I woke up to a beautiful morning and a deep blanket of snow this morning, so I went on a nice snowy walk on my local patch.

Highlights included:

  • A small flock of about 7 siskins at Old Wheel Dam
  • Two female goldeneye (probably the same as earlier in the year), 5 tufted duck (4 males, 1 female), 5 coot, 2 moorhen and one heron, all at Old Wheel Dam.
  • 16 stock doves in a field near Old Wheen Farm, and one meadow pipit (a year tick)
  • A flock of around 20 long-tailed tits at Stacey Lane, with a treecreeper among them
  • 4 bullfinches and 2 goldcrests on one of footpaths near fisheries
