  1. I was down at Potteric as well on Saturday, arrived about 11.45

I spent most of the time down at Piper Marsh and had the best display of Bitterns for some years. After about 10 mins one Bittern appeared at the back of the frozen water then spent the next 1/2 hour feeding, caught very large fish. Then another Bittern walked across ice from left and flew towards the other Bittern. After a few mins took off again to the right of the hide and never re-appeared.
Kingfisher gave excellent views at Mother Drain, a fox crossed the railway track and sparrowhawk, Buzzard, kestrel showed as well. On way out of Potteric saw a Pinkfoot skien of about 90 birds flying north west.
Still not connected with the waxwings, hope to ifnd some later this week. The Crosspool flock may well have disappeared by then
    Cheers Richard

Wow, sounds like I just missed the bittern display, I was probably busy wasting my time squinting at gulls at the time!

Just down Crosspool and no signs of waxies, but they may show up at some point. Seems to be a flock at Richmond Park near Handsworth as well today.
